When does the close season start - finish?

See the Permits page.. The close season for brown trout starts on 31st October and the Rainbow season finishes on 31st December subject to which permit you have [Day tickets are available]

How many brown trout can I keep?

Only two per day, though if you do not intend eating them, why not put them back. The size limit is 14 inches. It also depends on which permit you have . See the Permits page.

If I'm a visiting angler, where can I keep any fish I catch?

You should enquire at your accommodation to see if they provide freezer facilities.  If not, there is a freezer at the Warden's office.  Arrange your storage with the duty Warden. There are fish cleaning facilities at the Warden's office.
